Nick Geidner is the director of “100 Million Stories.” Geidner is an associate professor of journalism at the University of Tennessee, where he runs the award-winning documentary production program, Land Grant Films.
His previous credits include documentaries that have aired on Knoxville’s NBC and PBS affiliates, screened at film festivals and won numerous awards. Geidner is currently in post production on half-hour film following the resettlement process of a family of refugees from Burundi. “7 Days in America” is expected to be aired on East Tennessee PBS in the spring. Before coming to University of Tennessee, Geidner received a Ph.D. in mass communication from the Ohio State University and an M.A. in digital storytelling from Ball State University. Geidner lives in Knoxville with his wife, Shelby, and his 5-year-old son, Henry. Henry’s favorite Imagination Library book is One Cool Friend by Toni Buzzeo.
Abby Bower is the lead producer of “100 Million Stories.” She is a junior majoring in journalism and electronic media with a minor in business administration. Bower has been working as a producer with Land Grant Films since her first year at the University of Tennessee.
In her time with Land Grant, Bower has served as a producer on three documentaries, including the award-winning documentary, “Reaching Recovery: Pregnancy and Addiction in East Tennessee.” Bower has also interned at WBIR, Knoxville’s NBC affiliate, and studied abroad in Sydney, Australia. Bower is a student in UT’s Chancellors Honors Program and a member of the Campus Events Board’s executive board.
Lindsey Owen is serving as both a producer and second camera operator on “100 Million Stories”. Owen is a graduate student in the School of Journalism and Electronic Media at the University of Tennessee. Along with work on Land Grant projects, Owen is the graduate student intern for the Office of Communication and Marketing at UT, where she writes articles for the Tennessee Today. Before coming to UT, Owen worked in athletic video production at East Tennessee State University, where she help support sports coverage by ESPN and other organizations. Owen received her B.A. in media and communication from East Tennessee State University.

Brock Zych is the director of photography for “100 Million Stories.” Brock is entering his final semester as an undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is majoring in journalism and electronic media and minoring in cinema studies. He has worked with Land Grant Films on multiple projects focusing on East Tennessee including, “7 Days in America” and “Reaching Recovery.” Brock also helped establish a microdoc series for Land Grant Films during summer 2017. He was recently awarded second place in the feature video category in the College Media Association Film Fest 2017 for one of his micro doc videos. Along with other video projects in the upcoming year, Brock will be focusing on capturing the true meaning of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
